• Promoting and honoring Native American culture, a local printer decides to make a deck of cards.
• His graphic artist, Kurt Holdorf, hand draws each portrait of 12 South Dakota Native Americans.
• The original 12 portraits will be on display August 19 & 20 at 8th & Railroad Center in Downtown Sioux Falls.
Local printer, Eric Spears, at The Printing Center, combined his Native heritage and nearly 40 years of printing experience into a very special project. He decided to create a handmade deck of cards using Native Americans as the four Kings, Queens and Jacks. Tribal Leaders are Kings, accomplished native women are Queens and Spiritual Leaders, also known as Medicine Men, are Jacks. Each of these 12 Native Americans are from South Dakota.
